My Late-onset Pompe Disease Turning Point

Website Design

Amplifying patient voices in Late-onset Pompe disease

A patient-story–driven website designed to support awareness of treatment switching conversations for people living with Late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD). Built as a destination for social media traffic, the site provides an in-depth look into the moments when patients made the decision to make a change in their treatment journeys.

Because LOPD is rare, progressive, and deeply personal, the design needed to balance emotional sensitivity with functional performance. The approach centered on positioning the patients as the main focus of the site and letting them speak for themselves. Every design decision was made to reduce friction and avoid over-persuasion, allowing lived experience to remain the focal point.

The resulting site provides credible insight to shared experiences for patients living with LOPD. By combining story-first content with helpful resources to prepare patient for a conversation with their doctor about switching to a new treatment, we were able to empower patients to feel more informed, confident, and supported as they considered their next step.
